Sales and inventory reports
Period presets, what counts as a sale, and how to read the inventory report.
Reports has two tabs — Sales and Inventory — sharing one period selector. Unlike the Financial Report, it is available on every plan.
Choosing a period
Presets cover Today, This Week, Last Week, This Month and Last Month, plus a Custom Range for anything else — a quarter, a campaign, a single busy fortnight.
Tip
Compare like with like. This Month against Last Month is misleading on the 3rd of the month, when you are matching three days against thirty.
The Sales report
Sales are counted from jobs completed or delivered in the period. A job sitting in production, however valuable, has not sold yet and does not appear.
Unfinished jobs are the usual cause of a disappointing figure
If sales look far too low, check Production Jobs for work that was physically finished but never marked done. Nothing reaches any report until that happens.
Counter jobs show as walk-in trade rather than a named customer, which is expected — see Selling from the production floor.
The Inventory report
The inventory tab covers stock rather than money: what you hold, what has moved, and what is at or below its reorder level. Use it to plan buying, and to check that consumption looks plausible against the jobs you ran.
- Consumption far below the jobs you ran usually means products with no recipe.
- Items never moving are either dead stock or wrongly set up.
- Persistent low-stock entries want a purchase order or a higher reorder level.
